STOURPORT Swifts boss Neil Hunt reckons he needs up to six new signings to make his side a threat next season.

Swifts host Leighton Town on Saturday (3pm) in their final British Gas Business Division One Midlands game of the campaign.

However, Swifts, beaten 1-0 at Bedworth United last weekend, have had nothing but pride to play for in recent weeks and will finish fifth-from-bottom no matter what happens in the Walshes Meadow clash.

Hunt, whose side have not won for five matches, has been assessing his options and knows he needs new talent.

He said: "I have left out the regulars to look at people in different positions over the past three or four games. We had seven players last Saturday under the age of 21.

"I need to make five or six key signings in the summer. I have got a wish-list with about 12 players on and after this weekend I will be able to go on the phone and see what I can conjure up for next season.

"I will be disappointed next season if I am not competing in the top half of the table but if I keep the players I have got now, I will be competing in the bottom half."

Midfielder Craig Webb and striker Richard Burgess look set to return to the side after missing the trip to Bedworth due to a wedding.

Winger Richard Tomkins should also be fit after hobbling off with an ankle problem last Saturday.
