WORCESTER City captain Craig Jones is amongst of number of players departing the football club following the change in management.

After Tim Harris' resignation in September, new bosses Keenen Meakin-Richards and Graham Deakin took the job last week.

Naturally, there have been changes.

Five new players were signed last Friday ahead of their first game in charge against Uttoxeter Town, which City won 1-0.

But now there is confirmation that a number have chosen to move on, including the skipper Jones.

Jonah, as is known, became a fan favourite over his three years with Worcester and has captained the side for a large majority of that time.

He took to Twitter to confirm the news on Monday: "All the best to Worcester City for the rest of the season and beyond, but I believe the time is right now, for me to move on.

"Some great lads and people involved with the club who can hopefully achieve loads over the next few years."

Jones also managed the side temporarily in-between managers, not losing a single game.

Another favourite of the City Faithful to depart is Chris Withington.

Withington was signed during the 2018/2019 season by John Snape and made 32 appearances that season.

He stayed and played under both Ashley Vincent and Tim Harris, making 95 appearances for the club.

Finally, midfielders, Kieran Alder and Liam Spink have both decided to move on and we wish them well in their footballing futures.
