WORCESTER City have confirmed that midfielder Billy Shaw has returned to the club in time for this weekend's FA Vase first-round clash.

Shaw was one of the player's released by the previous management team of Keenen Meakin-Richards and Graham Deakin last week.

But following their swift departure and sacking earlier this week, the fan-favourite is back in the blue and white in time for this Saturday's FA Vase first round tie with Wellingborough Town at Claines Lane.

A club statement read: "We are extremely delighted this morning to announce the return of fans' favourite, Billy Shaw.

"Billy will be available for tomorrow's FA Vase game at Claines Lane against Wellingborough Town.

"We are sure this will give his teammates and supporters a huge lift in what has been a difficult period for the Club."

Whilst Worcester begin their search for the new manager, Reserves team boss Stewart Watkins will take charge of the first team.

He will be supported by assistant manager Graham Glenister, who has been Watkins' right-hand man with the second-string side.
