Malvern Town's incredible goalscoring form continued last weekend as they made it 17 in a week following an 8-0 thrashing of Bradford Town to stay a point behind league leaders Cribbs at the top of the Hellenic League Premier.

Lewis Spurrier scored his ninth and tenth goals of the season amongst seven different goalscorers on the day as Bradford felt the wrath of a relentless Malvern outfit, who beat Tuffley Rovers 9-1 in the cup in mid-week.

Town were 3-0 up at the break as Bobbie Dale found the back of the net right on the stroke of half-time after Joe Bullock and Spurrier had put the hosts in control.

Joe Bates and Ben Hayes made it 5-0 before substitutes Sam Judge and Matt Turner added number six and seven, with Spurrier providing the eighth in stoppage time.

A beaming Lee Hooper was clearly impressed with his side at full-time.

"That was really good, we're going to need an abacus out for our games at this rate," he said.

"A great performance from the lads and when we got the ball into the final third we were incredibly clinical.

"Having scored nine in the week we had some selection headaches for this game and some players were probably unlucky to miss out but everyone is making the most of their opportunities at the moment.

"We have strength in depth and we have players on the bench who can come on and make a difference. The lads are all buying into what we are doing and we are gaining some real momentum."
