Droitwich SPA will be aiming to claim another scalp in the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup this season when they travel to higher-level Bewdley Town in their rearranged tie.

The original match at Ribbesford Meadow was postponed due to the weather conditions but the two sides will go again on Wednesday night, with the winner hosting Pershore Town in the quarter-finals.

Having knocked out Worcester City in the opening round in front of over 1,000 spectators at King George's Stadium in convincing fashion, Droitwich will travel to Bewdley for the second time this season.

Spa have already tasted victory at the Meadow, having beaten them in the MFL League Cup 3-2 thanks to goals from Perry Moss, Charlie Tilley and Sam Hurdman.

But Droitwich come into the contest on the back of a couple of defeats in the last week or so after being dumped out of the MFL League Cup by Studley and losing to play-off rivals Hinckley AFC.

The Saltmen sit 10th in the MFL Division One table but they are just six points outside the play-off place with a number of games in hand.

As for Bewdley, they continue to adapt to life without manager Chris Cornes and star striker Dylan Hart.

The pair both moved to Worcester City when Cornes was revealed as the new boss at Claines Lane and striker Hart followed, as well as Bewdley captain Jordan Stoddart and forward Conor Jakeways.

They have since appointed Scott Mason as their boss and have taken one point from their last three games and were beaten 3-1by Lye Town on Saturday.

Having been as high as ninth in the table a month or so ago, they now sit 13th in the MFL Premier.

So on paper you would say Droitwich have a good shout at causing an upset and this evening's game could be a highly competitive encounter.
