Perrywood earned a spot in the WFA Sunday County Cup last four as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over an Athletico Retreat side glittered with former ex-football league talent.

Worcester City's Dylan Hart was on the scoresheet for the hosts, who also scored goals through Ryan Power and Worcester Premier League top-goalscorer Chrisi Conway.

The Wood join Inkberrow (Sunday team), AFC Thomas Brothers and Stourport Swifts (Sunday) in the semi-finals.

The draw for the semi-finals has not yet taken place.

The opening chance of the game came as league top goal scorer Conway cut in from the left and fired a strike just wide of the upright.

Hart, who is still serving a three-match suspension for City, then went close, beating his man and firing wide of the near post.

After a cagey opening twenty minutes, interim goalkeeper Steve Gourley made two one-on-one stops to keep Worcester Premier League leaders Perrywood in the game.

Perrywood then started dominating and they opened the scoring on the half hour when Conway broke forward and fed Power, who rounded the goalkeeper and slid the ball under the sliding defender from an acute angle.

The second half was a repeat of the opening stages of the first half with Athletico keeping the ball without being able to penetrate.

But they went close when former Aston Villa trainee Morgan Evans forced Gourley into another good save, tipping the ball onto the post.

On the hour mark, Woods' main threat Hart was set free after the Retreat midfield lost out to Davies. The Worcester man ran through the right channel before masterfully slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to give the Wood a two-goal cushion.

Perrywood's class and fitness was starting to show, Butterworth jinked up the left, and found Conway who hit a low shot from 30 yards which was well saved by the Retreat goalkeeper and Devlin narrowly fired wide of the woodwork.

Perrywood then secured the victory on 80 minutes when substitute Harry Lock broke from a Retreat corner before being hacked down on the half way line.

The referee played the advantage and Conway took the ball on before firing under the goalkeeper for his 20th goal of the season.

The drama was not done there though. The diminutive Lock was again hacked down and the mass brawl that followed saw him and the Retreat defender sent off.
