Worcester City have made it three wins in a row after a nervy 1-0 away win against Tividale.

A bullet header from club captain Aaron Roberts was the difference in the encounter, as City pull further away from relegation trouble.

In a half which was dominated by the visitors, the goal arrived 17 minutes in, a fantastic delivery by Reiss Taylor Randle was nodded in superbly by Roberts, after poor marking from the Tivi defence.

The dangerous duo of Kyonn Evans and Billy Shaw were at it again 10 minutes before half-time, a great flick from the powerhouse number 9 left Shaw with a chance on the volley, it sat up nicely for him but his effort went wide of the post.

A tight and tense second half saw few chances. Livewire Shaw created a golden opportunity to double City’s lead after his mazy run and pass found Taylor Randle, but his effort was well saved by Peter Hawk in goal for the hosts.

Similar to the Bewdley Town clash, Worcester were defending deep and in numbers but it proved to be extremely effective with City’s defence dealing with everything that came their way.

Worcester City have a crucial home fixture next up against Wolverhampton Casuals, a win would surely be enough for safety in the Midland Football League, as Chris Cornes' men pick up another vital three points on the road.
