EARLY league projections on social media suggest there is a possibility Worcester Raiders could be moved to the Midland Football League to join Worcester City from next season.

Raiders finished the 2022/23 Hellenic League Premier campaign in fourth place, missing out on promotion to Step 4, whilst City just about avoided relegation from the MFL Premier into Step 6.

But both remain at Step 5 and now early league projections suggest Raiders might be pushed over to the MFL Premier to join Worcester City.

Raiders have climbed up through the levels from being an amateur club and could now be playing home and away matches with city rivals, Worcester City, if this projection turns out to be correct.

Teams are moved around the leagues each year due to geographical circumstances once promotions and relegations have been confirmed. This one above shows that, somehow, FC Isle of Man might be moved into the MFL Premier.

Geographically, that would make very little sense and would cause quite a strain on the Midlands sides as they would need to fork out for travel and overnight stays, potentially, to play over there.

Droitwich Spa could also potentially be in the MFL Premier season next year if they come through their play-off final with either Ashby Ivanhoe or OJM Black Country this weekend.
