WORCESTER City representatives were in attendance on Saturday night at the Midland Football League end-of-season award evening.

Chairman Steve Goode twice took awards on behalf of City Reserves' players after forward Matti Klich won the Golden Boot award in the MFL Reserve league, whilst defender Ryan Glennister won Player of the Season in the same division.

Klich scored 14 goals in 20 matches in the league season to win the Golden Boot.

Glennister, who also made a handful of appearances in the first team last season, started 17 of City's 20 games and was named 'Opponents' Player of the Match' seven times in total.

The Reserves enjoyed a successful 22-23 league campaign, in which they came second, as well as reaching the League Cup semi-finals.

But the real stand-out success was the County Cup victory, beating Evesham United Development after a dramatic penalty shootout.

There will be a number of players in the Reserves who will be hoping for more opportunities in the first team under manager Chris Cornes next season.

The boss has often given youth a chance and a number of individuals will be looking to catch the eye in the coming months.
