CLUBS across Worcestershire were in pre-season friendly action over the weekend.

There were a couple of all-Worcestershire affairs as Kidderminster Harriers drew 0-0 with Redditch United on Friday night, whilst Stourport Swifts edged out Malvern Town in a thrilling 4-3 contest.

Swifts had gone 2-0 up but Malvern fought back to lead 3-2 in the second-half before Swifts found a couple of late strikes, including a free-kick from Lee Chilton, to come back and win a seven-goal thriller.

Of the other Southern League clubs, Bromsgrove Sporting hosted National League North outfit Hereford FC at the Victoria Ground and won 1-0 and Alvechurch struck late to beat Westfields with the same scoreline, Shay Willock scoring the winner.

Evesham United continued their build-up for the new season with a 2-0 win over Easington Sports thanks to goals from Levi Steele and Will Owens.

Into Step 5 and Worcester City almost came from 3-0 down to beat Telford United but despite goals from Danny Flowers and Zaq Hussain, they lost 3-2.

Worcester Raiders made the short trip to local side New Dales Vale at The Archdales and won 3-2, but there were defeats for both Bewdley Town and Pershore Town.

Bewdley struggled once more in a 4-0 home loss to OJM Black Country Rangers whilst The Plums lost their first game of the summer at Hartpury University by two goals to one.

Into the Step 6 sides and it was a fabulous performance from Droitwich Spa, who scored eight goals in a thumping win over Littleton. Roland Krol, Josh Hurdman (2), James Lemon (2), Connor Collins and Charlie Tilley all getting on the score sheet.

And finally, newly-promoted Sporting Club Inkberrow were beaten 2-1 by Coventry Copsewood.
