NEW signing Kyle Belmonte scored twice in four second-half minutes to help Worcester City come from behind and win their first game of the Hellenic League Premier season.

Cinderford led 1-0 heading into the final 30 minutes of the match after Ethan Hayes' opener but Belmonte headed home on the rebound to equalise before nodding home a cross four minutes later to turn the game around for the hosts.

Craig Norman pulled Cinderford level soon after but the striker then diverted an Adam Mace free-kick into his own net to hand City the lead in the final ten minutes.

Substitute Zaq Hussain then wrapped up the result in stoppage time when rounding the keeper and tucking home.

It had been a bright start from City, who popped the ball around nicely and asked plenty of questions of the Cinderford defence.

Liam Lockett twice skinned right-back Harry Knight inside the opening 20 minutes, one of those leading to him poking over the bar from close range.

Izak Reid, who impressed throughout, then weaved his way to the byline before pulling the ball back to Belmonte, who had his shot blocked away for a corner as City piled on the pressure.

It was all City for half-an-hour, but against the run of play, the visitors took the lead.

City right-back Cam Monteith was dispossessed on the half-way line by Cinderford's Charlie Davies, who then ran the ball into the box before delivering a low cross to the back post, where Hayes was there to scramble the ball over the line.

City players and coaches wanted a foul called on Monteith in the build-up, but they didn't get it and they found themselves behind.

The hosts looked lost for the next 30 minutes of the contest into the second-half before Belmonte struck twice in four minutes to swing the game in City's favour.

First, Mace's long diagonal ball out to Reid from a free-kick found the City wide man in space, before standing a ball up to the back stick which had Cinderford keeper James Smallcombe scrambling to keep the ball out.

Belmonte was there to capitalise as the keeper palmed the ball off the line and the new City man, who came through the youth ranks at Worcester, brought the home side level.

Tails were up now and just three minutes later, Belmonte had another as he rose highest to a ball into the box to thump home a header from five yards out.

But the now chaotic game took another twist as Norman, unmarked in the box, headed past City's Isaac Parry to make it 2-2.

With less than 10 minutes to go, it looked as if City would again be frustrated but a Mace free-kick was headed into his own net by Normam, who had now scored at both ends, to make it 3-2.

The late pressure from the away side was then squashed when Hussain ran onto a through ball before taking it around Smallcombe and sliding it into the empty net on the angle, securing the first three points of the season.
