JAMIE Insall was in inspired for Worcester City on Saturday as he scored half of the eight goals they put past AFC Bridgnorth in the FA Vase.

Insall scored two in each half in a brilliant individual display as City ran riot at Claines Lane.

Dylan Hart began the scoring in the 11th minute from the spot before Insall added two more before half-time.

Robbie Thompson-Brown made it 4-0 just after the hour before ex City player Mark Danks pulled one back for the visitors.

But City responded with four more as Liam Lockett and Logan Stoddart found the net before Insall bagged his hat-trick from the spot and added his fourth and City’s eighth late on.

It was the perfect afternoon for the hosts, who have their Worcester Derby with Raiders next up on Wednesday.

It was a rapid start from City and they never looked back after Hart tucked away his penalty.

Connor Gater then provided Insall with his first goal for City.

When Insall added a second ten minutes before the break, that seemed to be the goal that allowed the hosts to relax and enjoy the game.

But it did take until the hour for City to extend their lead. Thompson-Brown scored his first of the season after thumping home.

Danks, a popular figure amongst City fans, has a player-coach role with Bridgnorth this season and he marked the occasion with a consolation goal on the counter.

But it only seemed to irritate the home side, who ended with a flourish.

Lockett scrambled home to make it 5-1 and Stoddart grabbed a rare goal to make it six.

Insall would not be denied the match-ball but he did have to wait till the 87th minute when City were awarded a penalty, which he converted.

There was still some time left for the striker to score a fourth after good work from Kyonn Evans.
