KYLE Belmonte has made his move to Worcester City permanent after leaving Redditch United.

The attacking midfielder was on dual-registration terms with City and Redditch, but has parted ways with The Reds and joined City for good for the remainder of the 2023/24 non-league season.Β

Belmonte scored twice on his debut for the club in the 4-2 win over Cinderford Town last month and also played 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Longlevens the following week.

The former Worcester Raiders and Evesham United player was keen to try and make things work with Redditch, whom he joined in the summer, and has not featured for City since.

But he is now in the blue and white for good and will be involved in the FA Cup first round qualifying roundΒ tie at Sherwood Colliery on Saturday afternoon.

It marks a brilliant week for City, who won the first-ever Worcester Derby with Raiders 1-0 at Sixways. Belmonte was not involved in the squad but was at the game in his City training kit.

It will be a very popular move to get him in on a full-time deal and now without the distraction of going to and fro between clubs, Belmonte should be able to kick on and maintain City's title charge.Β
