EXCITEMENT is building ahead of the Rugby World Cup - and there are plenty of places to watch the action in Worcestershire.

The tournament gets underway on Friday, September 8 with hosts France taking on the All Blacks of New Zealand.

These are just some of the places that will be showing World Cup matches over the next two months.

Malvern Rugby Club

Malvern Rugby Club will be open this Friday from 6.30pm offering food and drinks for the 8pm kick off. They’ll be showing all home nations games and most of the other games, too.

And the club’s first team takes on local rivals Worcester at home this Saturday (September 9).

Dave Smith, president of Malvern Rugby Club, said: “The club offers a very warm welcome to all this coming weekend with a literal feast of rugby on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday with the bar and wider facilities fully open and available to all, not just members and players. I look forward to welcoming you.”

The Feathers, Worcester

Sport and music lounge The Feathers, on the Tything, will be showing all the World Cup matches.

Owner Justin Cull is excited about the tournament and even has all the fixtures up on the wall as part of a huge mural.

It’s also offering pints of Belhaven Black for £2 throughout September following last month’s Guinness promotion.

Great Malvern Hotel

The Great Malvern Hotel will be showing matches throughout the tournament, including Friday’s opener.

The hotel has recently announced it is sponsoring Malvern Rugby Club for the 2023/24 season.

The Bakery Inn, Malvern Link

The rugby fans in charge of The Bakery have confirmed they will be showing the Rugby World Cup games.

Worcester RFC

Worcester Rugby Football Club have been counting down to the start of the tournament and will open up to the public as well as club members for the opening game.

Evesham Rugby Club

Evesham are asking members to check their social media feeds to stay up to date with which matches are being shown live at the club.

They will be showing seven across the opening weekend.

Barnard’s Green Cricket Club

The cricket season may be drawing to a close but there’ll be plenty of sport on the TV to enjoy at Barnard’s Green Cricket Club, including the Rugby World Cup, the upcoming Men’s Cricket World Cup and Euro 2024 qualifiers.
