TABLE topping Worcester City will be targetting an eighth Hellenic League Premier win in a row on Tuesday night when they head to Gloucestershire to face strugglers Lydney Town.
Second-half goals from Izak Reid, Liam Lockett and an own-goal helped City overcome a stubborn Brimscombe & Thrupp 3-0 on Saturday, which coupled with Corsham Town's 0-0 at Worcester Raiders, meant City went top of the table.
City still have two games in hand on Corsham, one of which being Tuesday night at Lydney, where Chris Cornes' men could move three points clear.
And Cornes admitted "everything is going well" following that 3-0 win on Saturday.
"We dominated the game from start to finish and were very good for the result," he said. "It was a professional performance.
"We said at half-time that we knew that if we could get that goal we would go on and score a few more and that's how it ended up.
"When you have quality players all over the pitch, you know that the goal is going to come and at the moment they are coming from a number of players.
"On Saturday it was an own-goal but (Adam) Mace has put a great ball into an area where we have asked him to put it and it's taken a flick.
"You need a bit of luck sometimes and we got that, but that's part of football. "Everything is going so well at the minute."
