WORCESTER City manager Chris Cornes admitted he was "proud as punch" after his side made it six wins from six in all competitions through the month of October thanks to their 2-0 FA Vase win on Saturday.
Worcester keeper Haydn Whitcombe saved a fourth-minute penalty before goals from Connor Gater and Liam Lockett secured an eighth win in a row in all competitions for City, as Sleaford Town became the latest team to suffer defeat to Cornes' men.
"I’m happy enough with the win and that means we have won every game in October and that's a testament to the lads," said Cornes.

"It’s not just about the Saturdays and the midweek games, it’s the training sessions as well.
"We as coaches do really test this squad. We try and push them for perfection and October has been really good and I can’t ask for any more from them.
"I like to think everyone involved must be proud as punch in this team of players, they deserve so much credit and I can only thank them for their efforts."
Cornes made sure to point out his shot-stopper Whitcombe for particular praise after he produced a crucial moment in the cup tie.
"We didn't get off to the best of starts by giving away the penalty but Haydn had made a great save," added Cornes. "He gets a clean sheet bonus and it's about time, he has earned it.
"Penalties are a bit of a lottery and he said in the last round that he wasn't that good at them but he saved us in the shootout in the previous round and he's made another to get us into the second round.
"His confidence is so high at the minute, he is a totally different keeper than the one from last season.
"As a back four (and keeper) you fight so hard for clean sheets and they can all take positives from that."
City are back in action on Wednesday night when they turn their attention back to their title charge.
Corsham Town's 2-0 win over Tuffley Rovers brought them level on point with Hellenic League Premier leaders City, who now have three games in hand on their title rivals.
One of those games in hand comes on Wednesday at Hereford Lads Club (7.45 pm).
"Focus is off the Vase now and we are back to league action," Cornes said. "We need to get a bit of maintenance into some of the lads and rest up before going again at Lads Club on Wednesday.
"We want to keep that winning run going and get some more points on the board with these games in hand we have."
