ON-LOAN West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ronnie Hollingshead was the hero of the day as his saves in the penalty shootout secured Alvechurch's place in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final.
Church and league rivals Redditch United played out a goalless draw in the regular 90 minutes before Hollinsghead saved both AJ George and Jordan Cranston's penalties in a 4-1 shootout win for Church.
Church will now face the winner of Tuesday night's semi-final between Evesham United and Kidderminster Harriers, the only fully professional side in the competition, at the Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium in April.
It was a cagey first-half, with neither side able to carve out a clear-cut goal scoring opportunity.
It took until the second-half for the first real chance for either side but Hollingshead was equal to Alex Cameron when the pair were 1-on-1 shortly after the restart.
The Albion loanee was again called into action to tip a deflected free-kick over the bar and had to react quickly to a scramble in the box as the game headed towards the full-time whistle.
He survived a bit of a scare late on when a loose back pass almost gifted Redditch a winner, but the referee awarded a corner instead of a penalty.
Hollingshead then capped off a fine individual performance with two saves in the shootout and penalties scored by Church's DJ Campton-Sturridge, Jack Hallahan, Josh Dugmore and Leo Brown saw the away side reach the final.
