THE glamour of the FA Cup reaches the Langland Stadium on Saturday as Malvern Town tackle Coalville (3pm).

Joe Rawle’s side go into the preliminary round contest missing four youngsters who have been selected for a Worcestershire FA u18s friendly match for the same day, much to the frustration of their boss.

The likes of Mason Mansfield, Lewis Loader and Joe Kings will be missing from the Malvern squad.

Town go into the cup match after a goalless draw at Barton Rovers on Saturday and a 2-1 home derby defeat against Stourport Swifts during the bank holiday weekend.

Rawle said: “It’s the FA Cup. It’s great to be in the same competition which Manchester United, Chelsea and all the big guns play in.

“I don’t know too much about Coalville. They were always a big, strong side in the Alliance and they had a decent run in the FA Cup not too long ago.

“They will be tough and have two big lads up front. I’m expecting another hard game but it’s good to take any cup game at home.

“They may be a division below us but the top 10 of the Alliance is just as good as the bottom 10 of our league.

“Our aim is to get through as many rounds as we can and earn as much money as we can.”
