I WILL be out of action for at least another six weeks after tearing my thigh muscle — a massive blow as I’ll miss a big chunk of the season.

I suppose you’ve got to take the rough with the smooth and I’ve not had too many big injury problems over the last couple of years.

However, there is plenty I can still do at the club in terms of helping with the preparation for games and I will be at Sixways all the time to lend a hand.

It was a massive effort from the lads to get a result at Wasps and three guys stood out for me. Everyone in the squad played really well, but Matt Mullan, Will Bowley and James Collins were excellent.

In that game, they all made a big breakthrough in terms of their progress. All three of them acquitted themselves brilliantly and they were the difference in the win.

‘JC’ has really come along and he has a great attitude. He trains really hard and he deserves what he gets — he is one of the guys who sets a really good example to the other players.

‘JC’ and Tom Wood have come through the academy and are real asset to the squad. Them coming through has meant we have been able to recruit in other areas and not worry about the back row.

If Matt continues to progress the way he is, full international honours cannot be far away. I have no doubt he can play for England.

There are 30-odd games in a year which is not healthy for one player. We’ve had to do that out of necessity in the past but now we have better depth to our squad.

If you look at the likes of Leicester, they have Lewis Moody and Ben Herring, who are both very good open-sides. All the top sides can do that —you have to have two players in every position who can do a good job for you.

It will be a big ask for us to beat Leicester this weekend, but every game in this league is a test. It will be as big a task this weekend as it was at Wasps — if not bigger.

It will be great to play in front of our own fans for the first time this season and hopefully there will be a full house to cheer us on. I think there are tickets still available, but it would be great to have a capacity crowd.

We’ve always known Loki Crichton is a massively talented player but you’ve got to take your hat off to him for making the kick to win the game at Adams Park.

As I said, having quality cover in every position is important and that will be the case with Loki starting instead of Matt Jones on Sat-urday as Matt has an injury.

Matt has really impressed since he joined us.

Finally, I was sad to discover that Dan James has died. He spent eight years with Wor-cester as a mini-junior and was a very important part of the rugby community. We wish his family all the best and there is a huge amount of support from everyone at Worcester. There will be a minute’s silence in his honour before Saturday’s game.
