TWO players were sent off as Charlotte Roberts’ hat-trick helped Worcester Women to a 6-2 win over Bedford in the Midlands Premier Division.

The hosts got off to a great start against the former National League side, scoring after three minutes.

From a penalty corner, Elaine Shepperd’s shot set up Julie Harwood to deflect past the keeper.

The goal settled Worcester who added a second from Shepperd’s tap-in after a rebound on 15 minutes.

Bedford deflected in their first goal just before half-time.

Harwood’s skilful goal from open play regained Worcester’s two-goal advantage after the break.

Soon after, Roberts reverse-sticked home her first league goal and then added a second before Bedford had a player dismissed.

Although the visitors notched a second and Worcester saw a player sent off for a harsh tackle, Roberts’ fierce strike sealed the win and her hat-trick.

The thirds beat Droitwich 4-2 in Worcestershire League Division Three with goals from Erin Clarke (2), Sasha McNeilly and Jo Fitton.

Fielding a weaker side than usual due to unavailability, Worcester Girls Under 18s lost 7-0 to Stourport in the Plate.

The Wyre Forest side ended the game with two goals in as many minutes.

Worcester Boys’ Under 15s defeated Yate 3-1 in the National Knock-out Cup.

A move up the centre found Lasse Bachem unmarked in the circle to fire home the city side’s opener.

With a fine attacking move down the right, Daniel Ferrier drove home the second goal.

Worcester sealed the win after the break with a narrow angled shot from Bachem before a Yate consolation from a penalty corner.

Cooke completed the scoring as Worcester demonstrated some good team-work and passing.

Edward Brown tapped in the equaliser at the far post from Daniel Ferrier’s cross as Worcester Badgers Pippins drew 1-1 with Hampton-in-Arden.

Hampton were fortunate to take the lead after a defensive error.
