WORCESTER broke their losing run with a 6-3 victory over newly promoted Northampton Saints in the Bodykraft Midlands Premier League.

The first-half saw Worcester compete well and look dangerous in attack but they again let themselves down when the Saints intercepted a long through ball and scored on the counter.

Northampton doubled their lead when they pounced on a rebound from a penalty corner following a fine save from Sam Dawson-Smith.

Skipper Jon Sprague pulled one back for Worcester from a penalty corner before Pete Gibbins broke from inside his own half to level the scores.

Sprague grabbed his second of the match after the interval from a penalty stroke, but the Saints drew level.

However, from then on in, it was all Worcester.

Sprague completed his hat-trick after being put through by Chris Perry. The skipper then turned provider to put through Alex Johnson to smash the ball home.

Sprague then completed the scoring with a second penalty- corner strike.

The seconds secured a 4-1 victory over North Stafford in Midlands Division One.

Worcester start badly and conceded an early goal.

However, the hosts hit back with a nicely worked goal from Steven Howard.

The second-half was dominated by Worcester and they scored some quality goals through Chris Kendall and Oli Parker.

Mark Richardson sealed the victory when he fired home from a well worked short corner.

Despite starting poorly against Kelsa, the thirds romped to a 6-1 victory.

Matt Hooper and Mike Perry grabbed the first of their two goals as they went in at the break 3-1 up. Tim Young netted the other.

Perry completed his brace after the interval from a short corner before Hooper netted his second.

Glen Barnes scored the sixth for the thirds with a miss-hit shot.

Joe Drewett was on target for the fourths, but that was not enough as Barford Tigers fourths ran out 2-1 victors.

James Earley made some fine saves for Worcester fifths, but their counterparts from Cannock romped to a 5-0 win.

Brian Crump came close to getting on the scoresheet but his effort went inches wide of the post.

Ollie Bradley hit a hat-trick as the sixths stormed to a 6-0 victory over Sutton Coldfield ninths.

Worcester were rarely troubled by Sutton and John Griffiths fired the first goal in the opening minutes.

The sixths continued the pressure and stretched their lead to 4-0 before the break.

Worcester maintained their pressure in the second-half and, after weathering early pressure, completed their victory thanks to goals from Judd Dowty and Tom Neil.
