MARCO Adaggio wants to get back among the goals and fire Worcester City towards success in Blue Square South.

City’s top-scorer has netted seven times this season and is currently tied fifth in the scoring charts with Chelmsford’s Dave Rainford and Josh Scott of Hayes and Yeading.

However, striker Adaggio has not hit the target since his acrobatic effort in the 2-0 success at Havant and Waterlooville on October 18.

City then went three games without scoring before Adaggio supplied the pass for Matt Dinsmore to equalise in last Saturday’s 2-1 win at Hampton and Richmond.

Adaggio, 21, admits his four-game goal drought is a concern but is confident of putting that right when Richard Dryden’s team visit Thurrock today (3pm).

He said: “It bothers me as a striker, I like to get a goal. But I enjoy setting people up just as much as scoring myself.

“But my main priority is to score goals and hopefully I can do that today. I do need to get back on the goal trail.

“There are players who are leaping up the scoring charts and I want to be among them.”

Adaggio knows a personal return to form up front would help City climb the league but said the team’s success is more important.

The victory at Hampton last Saturday was City’s fifth away from St George’s Lane this campaign and they are looking to extend that at Thurrock.

Adaggio said: “We have got to be pleased getting three points away from home. We are back on the winning streak and just need to improve at home.

“We have a very good record away from home, that’s where most of our points are coming from.

“I was pleased for the team, it’s not just a one-man sport. Indiviudallym I thought I did OK.”

Although City are out to prove their recent unbeaten run was no fluke, Adaggio has warned his team-mates not to take success at Thurrock for granted.

He added: “They are three games unbeaten and had a 6-0 win on Saturday so we can’t go in too confident just because they are nearer the bottom of the league.

“But we have got to be confident that we can go on another run.”

n City have announced that the FA Trophy match against AFC Wimbledon next Saturday will be segregated in the same way as the league fixture on October 4.

The Canal Terrace, the Brookside and blocks ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ of the main stand will be used by Worcester fans.

Visiting supporters have been allocated the dressing room end of St George’s Lane and ‘D’ block of the main stand.
