TOURING SSG Bensheim returned from Worcester Hockey Club with one victory and two defeats.

The Badgers hosted the German team and put on a series of activities, including three games at RGSAO The Grange’s all-weather pitch.

Henning Bachem, whose two sons, Lasse and Joern, study at RGSAO, and the club’s Barrie Roberts planned the tour and Worcester intend to make the return visit next year.

In the first game, Worcester’s under 15s boys beat their counterparts 4-2.

Lasse Bachem, playing for Bensheim, scored twice in the first-half with Daniel Ferrier replying.

The city side hit back to win with goals from Ben Cooke (2) and Christian Holden.

The under 13s boys claimed a 4-3 victory over Bensheim with Cooke (2) and Ferrier (2) among the goals again.

Florian Krupa had put the tourists ahead but Worcester scored four goals in a row before Moritz Haldy and Michael Heckmann struck back.

In the final game, two adults joined both under 15s teams and the Germans romped home 4-0.

Lasse Bachem, Linus Kammerer (2) and Joern Bachem scored to pick up the Easter 2009 Badger Trophy.

All players received a tournament medal and an Easter egg.

Trophies were presented by former England and Great Britain player Malcolm Wilkinson.
