WHILE everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather on Sunday, competitors at Arden Sailing Club (Defford) were complaining about the lack of wind.
The slow current allowed the intrepid few to take to the waters, with six of the seven boats managing to crawl round the short course.
The unusual and difficult conditions saw a real shake up in results with David Yul (Heron) winning the race on points.
Yul was close to the faster boats on the water.
Second was Malcolm College followed by Keith Stevens (both Comet).
Niall Campbell and Jane Smee (Enterprise) were fourth, followed by Stuart Stephen, single-handed, in another Enterprise.
David Bryden (Heron) finished sixth.
David Stephen and Laura Jones were forced to retire in one of the club GP14s.
The second race proved just as difficult with College taking first place from Stuart Stephen.
Third was Stevens, while Campbell and Smee were fourth.
Anyone interested in learning to sail can contact Stevens on 01684-833061.
