WORCESTER’S youth section enjoyed their best spell of the season so far, winning games in all age groups.

The under 10s scored 107-4 against Old Elizabethans, with Clark Knapton contributing 32, after bowling OEs out for 35 runs.

In a rain-affected game, the under 11s amassed 289 and Harvington could only reply with 169 off 12 overs.

The under 12s, playing Rushwick, totalled 146-5 and dismissed their opponents for 77.

They also defeated Stourport with Taylor Pugh retiring on 30 for the sixth time, making him the leading scorer in the competition.

Worcester scored 139-2 and Stourport 83-7.

In another rain-affected match, the under 14s defeated Ombersley, scoring 99 with Charlie Weaver contributing 41.

In reply, consistent bowling restricted Ombersley to 90 runs.

The under 15s entertained Droitwich and managed 133-5 off 20 overs.

Ryan D’Oliveira (50) and Joe Worthington (50) batted well before tight bowling from Luke Deeprose ensured Droitwich fell seven runs short of the target.

The under 16s, playing OEs, scored 123 off 20 overs with Tom Cluett (33) top-scoring and Jack Ellis took 2-8 in the reply of 90-6.

To round off a fantastic period, Worcester Under 17s beat Pershore in the Ryan Birt Memorial Trophy.

Worcester put together 169-4 with Matt Walters scoring 62 and Nick Brown 28, while Pershore replied with 97-5.
