AROUND 240 children from 25 charter standard teams participated in the annual Worcestershire FA Football Festival.

All teams played at least one game on the new 3G all-weather surface and several matches on the new grass pitches at the King George V Playing Fields.

The festival, held each year in a partnership between Worcestershire FA and Worcester City Council, saw a change to the format and girls’ teams introduced.

It was broken down into under 8s, 10s, 12s and under 10s girls sections.

Oldbury Park Tigers Under 12s received the fair play award from Matt Jones, WFA development officer.

Many teams also took up the challenge of participating in various skills activities led by the WFA’s Ted Grizzell.
