PHIL Lashford was on target as Stourport lost 2-1 at Team Bath Buccaneers in England Hockey League Men’s Conference West.

Stourport Women opened their Midlands Division One campaign with a 1-1 draw at Solihull Blossomfield.

The hosts took the lead in the first five minutes and the visitors’ heads dropped.

But they were lifted again in the second period and Sarah Cavendish levelled after an assist from newcomer Rene Johnson.

In the Midlands Conference South, Stourport Seconds lost 2-1 to Warwick University with Caroline Sidell on target. Player-of-the-match Sally Smith kept them in the game with good saves.

Rhiannon Linnington-Payne, joint player-of-the-match with Lucy Mattocks, scored five goals as Stourport Thirds thrashed Tenbury Seconds 8-0 in Worcestershire League Division Two.

Jen Peniket (2) and Kate Bailey added to the scoreline.

In Division Three, Teri Baron (2), player-of-the-match Denise Brandon (2) and Caroline Wilson helped the fourths romp to a 5-2 win at Redditch Seconds.
