THERE is going to be a lot more to come from us over the coming weeks of the season and I expect that to start on Saturday night.

This weekend’s game against Sheffield Sharks will be our first home game of the campaign and it is always exciting to play in front of your own supporters, family and friends.

The Sharks, like us, lost their opening game of the season, but they are an experienced outfit and had suffered a few injuries so I expect them to be at full strength this weekend.

They have brought in a good American player called Mike Cook and he scored 36 points in their 113-93 defeat at Leicester Riders.

They also have Ryan Patton, Matt Gorman and Atiba Lyons who are threats as well, plus there is the British guy, Tafari Toney, who is looking to show the league he is still improving.

Despite losing at Milton Keynes Lions 94-81, I felt that we played some good, hard basketball for 40 minutes and that is hard to do.

Yes, we made some mistakes, but the more we play together — we have only been together for three weeks — the better we will be.

We have worked on some obvious weaknesses from that game. Our rebounding and free-throw shooting needs to improve and we must limit our turn-overs.

Only one player, Skouson Harker, was in the Worcester starting five at Milton Keynes that played last season.

I gave debuts to Anthony Martin, Randy George, Chey Christie and Kenny Saunders. They all did okay, maybe they under-performed a little.

But they will come good and people will see a lot more from them and I believe that will start on Saturday.

I said last week that it will take us time, but I really believe our supporters will start to see more of the real us in the future.

We are starting to be more comfortable with each other and the game against Sheffield will be a good test to show where we are at.

I want us to start playing good, offensive, physical basketball. I want us to have more tempo, they are just little adjustments we need to make.

After our game on Saturday, we make the trip to Cheshire Jets on Sunday. It is a busy weekend for us.

But the Milton Keynes game was a good test last weekend and I learnt a lot about my team.

We must come ready to play every night in this league or we will be beaten.

I really look forward to seeing you all on Saturday night.

I believe we have a lot of quality in the side and that it will be on show this weekend against both Sheffield and Cheshire.
