MANAGER Paul West says Evesham United need to be wary of plotting revenge on rivals Stourbridge.

The Robins were knocked out of the FA Cup by Gary Hackett’s Glassboys on Sunday with a 1-0 second qualifying round defeat at St George’s Lane.

By a quirk of the fixtures, the teams meet again at the War Memorial Ground in the Zamaretto League Premier Division tomorrow (3pm).

Though West admits there will be an element of wanting to set the record straight, he is keen to stress three points has to be the focus.

He said: “It’s a feud that’s been going on since I have been manager.

“It’s another league game but when you are too desperate to get one over a team it doesn’t work. Sometimes you have got to play using your brains.”

The United manager is also looking for a response from his players following their cup exit.

Ryan Rowe’s goal sent Stourbridge through despite them finishing with 10 men following the dismissal of Ryan Mahon.

“We were very disappointed about exiting the FA Cup but, on the other hand, I don’t think anybody can grumble with our experiences in the competition over the past few years,” said West, who expects to have a fully-fit squad to pick from at the weekend.

“It was frustrating because the way Stourbridge approached it was with one up front to make it difficult for us.

“On the day we didn’t have that bit of quality to win it. Too many players were average on the day and the result reflected that.”

Stourbridge this week signed experienced former Kidderminster Harriers goalkeeper Stuart Brock.
