HEREFORD United will be fearless and full of confidence when they host another League Two high-flier at Edgar Street.

The Bulls were 2-1 winners over leaders Bournemouth on Tuesday and fancy their chances against third-placed Dagenham and Redbridge tomorrow (3pm).

United have only lost once on their home soil in the league this season, while the Daggers have just two wins in five games on their travels in the competition.

Add the fact that Hereford have won two out of their last three games and their visitors were stunned 2-0 at Barnet in mid-week and this clash has the makings of an intriguing encounter.

Trewick said: “I don’t think there’s anything to choose between teams at the top and bottom of the division and beating Bournemouth proves that.

“It was a good result and we deserved it. It’s always good for confidence to beat a team who are riding high.

“Dagenham have had a good start but, as always, it’s about what we do and, if we show the same amount of intelligence and energy, we will be fine.”

Midfielder Marc Pugh scored both goals against the Cherries but Trewick is keen to keep his players’ feet firmly on the ground.

“We must not get complacent having won a couple of games,” he said.

“We have got a lot to do to get to the level of consistency that’s required.

“The new players have added a bit of sparkle to proceedings and there’s a lot of competition for places.

“Even at Rochdale, the 4-1 scoreline flattered them and we could have been ahead at half-time easily, so I wasn’t despondent.

“We need to convert performances in the next three or four weeks into more points.

“We want to try and continue the form we have shown.”

Hereford will again be without midfielders Jonny Godsmark and Glen Southam with broken hands, while Craig Jones (back) and forward Lee Morris (groin) are still struggling with injury.

Striker Leon Constantine is also a doubt after breaking his nose in a reserve friendly in the week but his progress will be monitored. Trewick, though, believes he has a large enough squad to deal with the current crop of casualties, having brought in five players in the past fortnight.

Strikers Craig King and James Walker, winger Mark Marshall and defender Danny Blanchett have arrived on loan from Leicester, Southend, Swindon and Peterborough respectively, while striker Mathieu Manset has agreed a short-term deal.

The signings have also coincided with Hereford’s upturn in results and King has expressed a desire to extend his stay at Edgar Street beyond the initial one month.
