BROMSGROVE Rovers remain focused on their FA Trophy clash at Fleet Town on Saturday (3pm) — despite plans to put the club into administration.

Former Victoria Ground director John Teece is allegedly owed £5,000 and has served papers on a High Court hearing for a winding-up order on October 21.

But Rovers chairman Tom Herbert has revealed his application for administration, which will be heard in the High Court on October 19, and an offer from a consortium for the club.

Herbert said: “I am not prepared for the club to go out of business so I have decided to place it into administration.

“This was an extremely difficult decision for me to make after being here for over eight years but I just simply could not let the club fold.

“I will continue to be chairman until the hearing. A consortium have approached the club and made an offer which has been put to the administrator.

“Over my time here I have always done what I have thought was best for the club and have invested considerable amounts of money.

“My health over these last two years has also not been good.”

Rovers would clearly benefit from a money-spinning FA Trophy run which could start tomorrow with the preliminary round in Hampshire.

Bromsgrove are unbeaten in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands but out of the FA Cup.

Rovers manager John Snape said: “We want to make an impact in this cup, which is a big national trophy with prize money at stake.

“I am pleased with the league form and getting wins in the last two games has moved us up the table which is what I am concentrating on.”

Defender Luke Findlay and midfielders Luke Darby and James Hancox are back in contention.
