OMBERSLEY super-middleweight Alex Strutt is hoping that he can follow a more traditional fight plan when he returns to the ring in November.

Having destroyed Davey Jones last month in just one two-minute round, the 27-year-old wants his next fight to consist of the standard three-minute rounds.

During his amateurs days with Droitwich ABC, Strutt regularly fought over the two minutes, but since turning professional he has only had one fight which consisted of three-minute rounds.

While he was happy for his return to the ring to be over six-twos after a period of 10 months of inactivity, Strutt wants his fights to mirror that of the pro game.

“Six-twos wasn’t too bad for my comeback fight, but I want three-minute rounds now, it is more traditional,” said Strutt.

The 168-pounder is expecting his next fight to be in Dudley sometime in November with a date and opponent to be confirmed.

Having only had four fights since turning professional in September 2007, Strutt is already reaping the benefits of joining up with Paul Webb, John Costello and First Team Promotions.

“It is great that I will be back in the ring just eight weeks after my last fight,” he added.
