THREE defeats in our first three matches does not mirror the work we are putting in behind the scenes at Worcester Wolves.

The guys are working so hard in practice and are doing a lot of positive things — we just have to translate that into wins on the court.

We improved over the course of six days last week but we didn’t maintain that improvement on Saturday against Sheffield Sharks.

On Sunday away at Cheshire Jets, when we lost 96-83 with Harry Disy scoring 17 points, we competed a lot better.

Having said that, losing 100-71 to Sheffield Sharks on Saturday was not acceptable.

We had some strong words for the guys afterwards and it hurts because we have worked hard in training and haven’t shown that in the games.

There’s no excuse for it and we have to work harder and compete until the end of the match.

It was disappointing for our first home game and it didn’t represent our pre-match preparations.

When you lose that badly at home you have to look at yourself and the players. As a whole we are not performing although some of the players are doing better than others.

As a result, we are looking to make a few personnel changes and are in the process of bringing in a new player following the release of point guard Anthony Mar-tin.

That could be done in time for Saturday when Glasgow Rocks are the visitors to the University of Worcester for the next match.

Against Sheffield, we faced Ryan Patton and now we will be up against another star in Rob Yanders who has been the best point guard in the league for the past two or three years, so it doesn’t get any easier.

But it’s only our fourth game of the season so right now it’s just important we continue to improve as a team.

At this stage of the campaign we need to keep playing and getting better so we need to make sure we are playing the best basketball that Worcester Wolves can play.

We know we could win on Saturday but I want to make sure we are getting better when we do win matches.

One of the key things for me is rhythm and if we are going to win consistently we have got to get the right tempo into our game.

That doesn’t mean we are going to win every time we play, but it will put us in a position to be successful in most games.

Defence is also an area we need to improve and that has been the focus this week.

There is a good camaraderie among the players at the moment and, as part of our training, we went to the swimming pool to do a work- out.

There are some positive things going on behind the scenes but we need to bring those to the forefront.
