BROMSGROVE Rovers manager John Snape admits the club’s 10-point deduction has had an effect on the players.

The Victoria Ground side were hit by the penalty after going into administration in October and sit just one place above the relegation zone in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands.

Rovers, who entertain fellow strugglers AFC Sudbury on Saturday (3pm), have won just one of their last five matches and lost 1-0 at Bury Town last Saturday.

Snape said: “It has been a problem. As much as you put it to the back of your mind, it is better to be up in the top half of the table than right at the bottom through no fault of your own.”

Rovers remain in administration but a meeting later this month could shape the club’s future.

Creditors will be given the chance on Thursday, December 17, to vote on a pay-out of five pence in the pound from preferred bidder Mike Ward.

Edwin Lee, from administrators Sanderlings LLP, said: “The immediate future of the club could hinge on the creditors accepting the CVA terms and the offer on the table to them.

“I would urge them to accept the proposal. I realise the bid that was accepted might not be everyone’s preference but it is the only one now that can take the club forward.”
