HEREFORD United will be solely focused on continuing their impressive home record tomorrow and won’t be distracted by the visit of Sven-Goran Eriksson, according to manager John Trewick.

The former England boss is the high-profile director of football at Notts County, who face the Bulls at Edgar Street in League Two (3pm).

But Trewick is not about to get caught up in any media circus surrounding the Swede and is concentrating on securing his side’s sixth success on home soil in the league this season.

Hereford have only lost once at headquarters — and that was a 3-1 defeat against Bury in August.

The United boss said: “I treat every visiting team and manager with the same sort of respect.

“The fact that it’s Notts County, Sven-Goran Eriksson and all that entails really is immaterial as far as I am concerned.

“There are three points to be won and all we can do is prepare the best we can and not get carried away with all of the possible razzamatazz and publicity that may surround Notts County.

“We are as confident as we can be without being overly so.

“We feel we have played quite consistently over the last 14 or 15 games and I think it’s a good opportunity to continue in that vein.

“I have said before that my aim is to be in the top half of the league before the end of the year and that still holds true.

“We have a realistic chance of achieving that goal.

“It’s going quite well at home so far but we must not get complacent and need to keep working hard to make sure we continue that.”

Hereford have won their last two league matches against Shrewsbury and Northampton.

The most recent success saw the Bulls break their duck away from Edgar Street with a 3-1 win at Sixfields on Tuesday.

Trewick added: “We have been threatening it. We performed pretty well in the previous couple of away games.

“I thought we were unlucky not to get wins at Barnet and Burton even though we only collected one point out of the six.

“The performances were good and we thoroughly deserved the points. Notts County are highly-fancied and have some good players but I can’t legislate for them.

“All I can do is prepare my team as best I can and if we peform like we did on Tuesday, then we have got a good chance.”

Hereford are set to be boosted by the return of midfielders Kenny Lunt and Edrissa Sonko who are both available again after missing the Northampton match through illness.

However, right-back Ryan Green is doubtful with a thigh problem having played through the pain barrier in recent matches.
