WORCESTER League Division Two table-toppers YMCA Kites were undone in a defeat to YMCA Elizabethans in the Team Handicap Knock-out first round.

Despite a strong display from Kites star Dave Williams, a weakened team were hit by the fine form of Dean Lewis as Elizabethans won by 78 points.

Newcomers Manor Park Dynamos recorded a comfortable 94-point win over Love City Groove, who were without their usual number one.

Division One leaders St.Georges proved too strong in a 107-point success over Nemesis, who were also missing their top seed, as Lewis and Michael Siket dominated.

Cripplegate Guild knocked out holders WGCC with a 36-point home triumph and maximum points from Steve Glazzard.

David Stevens put up a good fight for the visitors.

New team U3A acquitted themselves well at Himbleton ‘A’ but fell to a defeat by 27 points.

St Martin’s found visitors Strensham in good form as they claimed a deserved 69-point success.

Ian Keetley and the Davis brothers, Mark and Paul, all performed well for Strensham.

Meanwhile, St George’s and Rainbow are jostling for top spot in Division One following wins over Jostekeropa.

Rainbow achieved this for the loss of just two matches as Joe Higgs and Trevor Simmons remained unbeaten.

St George’s, however, dropped a point, as young Shafaz Ditta, despite playing well, lost all three.

The challenge of Hartlebury Wanderers fell away as they lost 7-3 to Nemesis with a weakened side.

Led by three wins from Richard Cullis and two from Richard Davies, Nemesis notched their first win of the season.

Hartlebury were also held to a 5-5 draw by Cripplegate Guild and only a maximum from new signing Will Pritchard earned them that much.

Cripplegate were involved in another 5-5 draw, this time against St.George’s Dragons.

The star for Dragons was again Geoff Woodward, while two wins from Phil Houghton and Glazzard helped earn Guild their share of the honours.

Himbleton ‘A’ succumbed to YMCA Falcons 9-1 with Ian Bell and John Stalker remaining unbeaten.

St Martin’s maintained their top-of-the-table Division Two position with a comfortable 8-2 win against YMCA Elizabethans.

Dave Watton and Simon Gibson excelled for Saints, each winning three singles and also combining to take the doubles.

Youthful Manor Park Dynamos made it five wins out of six with a 9-1 defeat of Strensham.

For the Dynamos, Matt White and Stan Mason were both unbeaten.

Adam Throssell, with three singles wins plus the doubles with Brian George, was instrumental in leading Himbleton ‘C’ to an 8-2 win over YMCA Enigma.

YMCA Kites beat Love City Groove 8-2 as Chris Jones replied with two wins.

Williams was again unbeaten, while Beryl Shammon and newcomer Phil Lewis played their part.

The top two teams St Martin’s and Himbleton ‘C’ were involved in a 5-5 draw.

Throssell played a major role for the village side in winning his three singles with Malcolm Parker contributing two.

Watton took two singles for Saints and combined with Gibson for the doubles.
