EVESHAM United will climb out of the Southern League Premier Division relegation zone tonight if they win at Merthyr Tydfil (7.45).

The Robins travel to Wales on a massive high after overcoming Northwood, who occupy the relegation play-off spot above them, 2-1 on Saturday.

Furthermore, the Martyrs are in miserable form, without a win in four attempts and having slumped 4-1 at home to struggling Chesham United on Saturday.

Registering back-to-back victories has proved United's Achilles heel all season and boss Paul West admits his side must bring that statistic to an end.

"This is a great opportunity to put two wins together," said West. "It's something we haven't done and now is a vital time. Merthyr's players would have had a few harsh words from their manager after Saturday's result.

"After getting a rollicking and a bad result like that, I know from experience they will be happy to have another game just around the corner to put things right. We are aware of that. But if we keep to the right things, as we did at Northwood, then we've got a good chance."

West hopes for more fireworks from striker Richard Ball, who took his goal tally for the season to 19 following his winning brace at Northwood.

Steve Luckett (ankle) and Danny Hodnett (dead leg) are doubtful, with Chad Shepherd on stand-by for his full debut.

Meanwhile, Bromsgrove Rovers are heavy favourites for three points in Division One West tonight when they travel to relegated whipping boys Thame United (7.45).

Westfields have a big game at home to bottom-of-the-table Rocester in the Midland Alliance tonight (7.45).

The Hereford side are third-from-bottom following a three-match unbeaten run which ended in a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Tipton Town on Saturday.

On a windy day, they blew their chances with a below-par display.

Paul Burton pulled one back but Alex Hunt was sent off for a professional foul and 'keeper Jon Pugh saved a penalty.

Meanwhile, Bromyard Town dominated Bustleholme in the West Midlands League Premier Division but lost 1-0 at home.

Rob Woodward, Chris Allen and Carl Fairhurst went close to scoring in the first-half. Then Fairhurst hit the bar with a chip before Bustleholme scored a cruel 85th-minute winner from a long ball.
