MARK Yates is hoping his Kidderminster side can continue their impressive Nationwide Conference run when they tackle high-fliers Halifax Town at The Shay tomorrow.

Harriers have picked up maximum points from their three league games under Yates and another victory would help them take another leap towards breaking into the top 10.

However, they face a tough task as the Shaymen are unbeaten at home all season and are third in the table.

An away win, though, would keep up Yates' 100 per cent league record since he was appointed Harriers boss a month ago.

He said: "The Shay is a difficult place to go to and we can't go there expecting to win. We have to earn the right to win.

"But, despite that, we will be going there in confident mood and looking to get the right result to keep moving in the right direction."

Following a flurry of transfer deadline-busting wheeler-dealing that Harry Redknapp would have been proud of, Yates is set to field a much-changed side tomorrow.

During the transfer window, nine players left Aggborough while six new faces arrived as the manager sought to trim -- yet strengthen -- his squad.

The high-profile departures of top-scorer Iyseden Christie, captain Mark Jackson and Wayne Hatswell were counter-balanced by the arrival of Jake Sedgemore, Andy White, Paul Smith, Junior Osborne, Francino Francis and Jonny Harkness.

Yates is now happy with the squad of players he has at his disposal and is ready to lead Harriers on a charge up the table.

He added: "I am delighted with what I was able to achieve during the transfer window. I believe the squad is much stronger now then when I arrived here and, if necessary, I can make it even stronger by adding a couple of loan players.

"We got what I consider to be an excellent deal for Iyseden and Jacko and I am really happy with the players we have brought in."

Striker Gareth Sheldon will return after being suspended for Harriers' fine 4-1 win at basement boys Southport last weekend.

But Sheldon may be kept out of the attack by loan signings Francis, impressive on his full debut, and White, who is in his second spell at the club.

The big Notts County forward was at Aggborough before in the 2003/04 season.

Ex-Shrewsbury player Sedgemore could be brought into the midfield engine room.

Compared to Harriers, Halifax were very quiet during the transfer window, but boss Chris Wilder did swoop to solve his goalkeeping problems by signing Jon Kennedy from Unibond League side Witton Albion.

The former Accrington Stanley 'keeper has agreed a deal until the end of the season at the Shay.

Wilder made his move for Kennedy after Adam Legzdins's re-call by Birmingham City had left 39-year-old player-coach Lee Butler as his only senior 'keeper.
