MARK Yates is hoping to tie up an extension to Andy White's loan deal before it expires after tomorrow's trip to Forest Green Rovers (3pm).

The 6ft 4ins frontman, who is at Harriers on a one-month loan from Notts County, has impressed in his second stint at Aggborough and Yates is keen to keep him on board.

White, who also played eight games for the club in the 2003/04 season on a temporary basis from Mansfield, has forged a promising `little-and-large' strike partnership with Lee Thompson in recent weeks.

The link-up paid dividends in the 1-1 Conference draw against Tamworth at The Lamb last month.

Thompson's flick-on fell to White who clinically tucked it away to re-open his Harriers account and claim a share of the spoils.

Harriers boss Mark Yates said he was optimistic of being able to thrash out a deal with Notts County manager Gudjon Thordarson to keep White at Aggborough for another month.

He said: "Andy's loan spell runs out after this weekend, but I have been speaking to Notts County to try and sort out an extension.

"He has done well since he has been here and I want to keep him on board. I am hopeful that we should be able to get something sorted."

Daryl Burgess (back), Michael Blackwood (knee) and Russ Penn ('flu) have made the most of not having a game last weekend to recover and are all in contention to start against Forest Green.

Wayne Graves (groin) is still a few weeks away from being fit and Terry Fleming's untimely booking against Crawley Town on February 21 means he has to serve a one-game ban for picking up five yellow cards.

If Fleming's booking had come after March 1 he would have escaped a ban, as any player reaching five cautions between this date and the end of the season is exempt from a suspension until they collect 10 yellows.

Yates added: "Wayne is still struggling with a groin injury and Terry is suspended but, apart from those two, I have got a full-strength squad to select from.

"Daryl and Michael both trained with the rest of the lads this week and are OK."

Ex-Harriers players Abdou Sall and Matt Gadsby are both set to feature for Forest Green and Yates is aware they will have something to prove against their former club.

He said: "Players always get a bit of a lift when playing against their old clubs, so we will have to make sure we are aware of that.

"I want my players to impress themselves on the game. We are aware of Forest Green's strengths and weaknesses and have plenty of ideas about how we can go about winning the game.

"It is a tough place to go and they have a decent home record but we will be going there looking to pick up a win.

"I still have not set any targets for the rest of the season. We just want to win as many games as possible to finish the season as well as we can and then we'll take it from there."
