MANAGER Andy Preece admits his Worcester City side must deliver Stafford-esque displays every week.

Spirited City drew 1-1 against Rangers at St George's Lane, with leading marksman Adam Webster netting minutes after the interval to cancel out Craig McAughtrie's first-half strike.

It was the second time in seven days that Worcester matched the Nationwide North leaders -- and on both occasions could have taken all three points.

Preece was delighted with the result, but reckons it only adds more frustration to their 4-0 thrashing at Hyde United on New Year's Eve.

"We've had two good performances against Stafford and a stinker in between," said Preece.

"It's frustrating, because we have played so well against the leaders in both games and put a really bad performance in between at Hyde. It's hard to describe really.

"I think when you look at how well we've played in recent weeks, we were due a bad one.

"It seemed that everybody at Hyde had a bad day, but they reacted in the right way and put another good performance in at home.

"I have to take the positives. We've run the league leaders really close twice, but we know we have to be at that standard when we play the likes of Hyde, Harrogate and Vauxhall Motors, because we know we can beat those sides."

Stafford boss Phil Robinson said: "I suppose a draw was a fair result. Worcester are organised and difficult to break down. They seem to be a bit of a set-piece team. Their deliveries are good and it's difficult to defend against."

Meanwhile, Robinson declined to comment on speculation linking him with the vacant Kidderminster Harriers manager's job.
