KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have snapped up a former Liverpool trainee on loan for a month to bolster their attacking options.

Manager Steve Burr moved to secure the signing of 22-year-old striker Craig Lindfield from League Two side Accrington Stanley after Marc Williams returned to Wrexham following his loan spell.

The Aggborough chief is hoping the two-time FA Youth Cup winner will add some extra firepower to his squad after also losing Jamille Matt to a hamstring injury.

“Craig hasn’t played much recently because he’s been injured,” Burr said.

“Hopefully he’ll come here, work hard, and score a few goals.

“He’s had a great grounding at Liverpool and we really needed to bolster our strike force with Marc going back to Wrexham and Matt injured.”

The former England Under 19s international joined Accrington from Macclesfield Town following his release from Anfield.

Lindfield, who had a loan spell with John Coleman’s side last year, has also had temporary stays at Notts County, Bournemouth and the now defunct Chester City.

Today’s Blue Square Bet Premier trip to Barrow has been postponed because of a frozen pitch following an inspection yesterday.
