KIDDERMINSTER Harriers assistant manager Gary Whild is hoping the club will now take leading scorer Chris McPhee off the transfer list.

The versatile player was put up for grabs as the cash-strapped Aggborough outfit looked to secure their future.

Following a week of frantic fund-raising, Harriers managed to stave off a Company Voluntary Agreement at the 11th hour and announced they raised virtually all the £155,000 required to see them through until the end of the season.

With Steve Burr’s side just one point and a place outside the play-offs, McPhee, who turned down a move to League Two team Hereford United last month, is vital to Harriers’ push for promotion.

“Our view hasn’t changed,” Whild said. “We want Chris to stay and hopefully now we can officially take him off the transfer list.”

Meanwhile, Harriers’ Independent Supporters Trust (KHIST) have seen their membership jump from just under 500 to more than 600 over the past seven days.

With applications from across Europe, KHIST, who have raised £17,000 this week, are hoping for many more members today.

KHIST want to fill Aggborough this afternoon when Harriers host Altrincham in the Blue Square Bet Premier (3pm).
