WORCESTER paid the price for facing Bromsgrove a man short in Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League Division One.

They collapsed to 34 all out chasing the town team’s 132-4 and lost by 98 runs.

Bromsgrove fell to 52-4, which included 23 extras, by the sixth over after spirited bowling by Liam Weston (0-22) and Matt Walters (2-19).

But the league’s leading batsman Jayden Levitt (46 not out) again came to Bromsgrove’s rescue with the help of Greg Chinn (24no).

Worcester lost Weston quickly to an unnecessary run-out and were all out by the sixth over.

Meanwhile, Worcester Nomads ‘B’ were restricted to 99-6 in a 39-run defeat against Cutnall Green.

A confident Green team, opening with Neil Fletcher (27no) and Matt Harris (25no), scored 138-3.

Scott Shuck added 22 and Nomads, lacking confidence, contributed 38 wides before running out of batsmen in the 10th over in reply.

In Division Two, West Malvern pipped Rushwick by two wickets with five balls left.

Rushwick set a big challenge with 133-3 as Gary Watkins (27no) and Mark Groves, with 25no in 12 balls, were the chief contributors.

West Malvern relied on Tony Williams (48no) and Glen Collins (45no) in their winning 134-4 with Groves taking 2-38.

Colwall slumped to 82 all out as Old Vigornians recorded a three-wicket success.

The villagers were in trouble when Ben Wheeler was run out for 16 and Lorin Arnold went on to take 3-13.

Colwall made a real effort to defend the small target with OVs only reaching 83-3 in the last over.

Arti Fiaz (25no) and Osman Fiaz (23no) added momentum to the Worcester team’s batting, while Damien Berry (0-19) and James Shepherd (1-17) bowled tightly.
