EVESHAM Reds hope to cap a fine netball season tomorrow when they bid to clinch the Premier Three title.

The league leaders, who have only lost twice all campaign, need victory over Poole Aquarians at the University of Worcester (noon).

But, with the south coast side one of only two sides to beat them this year, coach Steve McLeod is taking nothing for granted as he looks for his team to maintain their fine home record.

“We didn’t perform as we know we can when we lost to Poole earlier in the season,” he said. “But if we do play to our best level, then we should be pretty confident.

“This is a massive game for us and if we win promotion it will be a fantastic achievement.”

The Reds coach has highlighted captain Rachel Sweet and goal-attack Becky Giles as two of his star performers, while centre Joanne Brennan and Lucy Short have also impressed.

Since becoming the Reds in 2003, the club, who are based at the Henwick Grove university, won the West Midlands Regional League in 2009 before finishing runners-up in the same division the following season prior to their promotion to the national leagues this term.
