SHAKIB Al Hasan says he would relish a longer third spell at New Road after arriving in Worcestershire for the Friends Life t20 campaign.
The Bangladesh captain, who en-joyed a successful time with Steve Rhodes’ side last summer, has already signalled his intentions to return despite not having yet played a match.
The 24-year-old was hoping to make his comeback on Sunday — only for the Royals’ Twenty20 game with Durham Dynamos to be washed out.
Although Shakib has been signed for the t20 competition this summer, the slow left-arm all-rounder is hoping he may get a chance to feature for the County in a LV= Championship match before returning home.
He also hopes his fellow countrymen will follow him on to the county circuit after becoming the only Bangladeshi to play Championship cricket in England.
“If I have that chance to return I will definitely take it,” he said. “But, with the busy international season, it has been difficult for me to find two or three months to play. If I get a chance I will definitely come back.
“I also would love to see some of the other Bangladesh guys come over and play county cricket.”
