A BRUTAL display of batting from Henry Coleman was the highlight of Colwall thirds’ seven-wicket win over Dales in Marches League Division Two.
Put in by Colwall skipper John Berry, the Leominster side set about the bowling on their way to 278-5.
Wily veteran Paul Barnes was the pick of the bowlers at Ghost Meadow with 3-51.
In reply, openers Berry and Fred Coleman were soon back in the pavilion without a run to show.
After dispatching his first ball for four, Henry Coleman decided hitting the ball to the boundary was easier than running. He struck 13 fours and 18 sixes in an incredible 194 off only 79 balls.
He was well supported by James Abel (64 not out) in a partnership of 270 in 24 overs.
The winning runs came in the 27th over.
Meanwhile, Colwall suffered their first Worcestershire League Division Two loss of the season, going down by eight wickets to Monmouth.
The toss was vital as heavy rain leaked beneath the covers and helped Monmouth, who elected to bowl first.
Colwall, who remain only four points behind leaders Hagley, were restricted to 205 all out and Monmouth reached 206-2 in 46.4 overs.
