MANAGER Jamie Pitman feels Hereford United have enough firepower to score goals following the departure of Stuart Fleetwood.

Last season’s leading marksman, who had not scored for the Bulls this term, moved to Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Luton on transfer deadline day for an undisclosed fee.

At a time when Hereford are struggling at the wrong end of League Two going into tomorrow’s match against Dagenham and Redbridge at Edgar Street, the move took many by surprise.

But Pitman is confident Delroy Facey and Yoann Arquin can step up to the plate after keeping Fleetwood out of the team in last Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Bristol Rovers.

Sam Winnall and Tom Barkhuizen, on loan from Wolves and Blackpool for a month and until January respectively, are also available having featured in Tuesday’s 4-1 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat at Bournemouth.

In addition, the United boss will look to bring in fresh blood when the loan window reopens on Wednesday.

“Yoann and Delroy, along with Sam, look a threat but we need to keep working with them and hopefully we will get opportunities,” he said.

“Stuart has been a sub and Yoann and Delroy have done well in the last couple of games. We feel we are able to get goals and we will be looking to strengthen again in the loan window.”

He added: “We got an offer from Luton. I put that to the board and to Stuart and he has taken the opportunity to go. He’s been a very good asset to this football club and I wish him all the best in the future.”

Hereford have extended the loan of Swansea keeper Dave Cornell until the end of the season.

He will start against the Daggers as Adam Bartlett is out with a thigh problem and midfielder Rob Purdie has a similar injury.
