KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Steve Burr has praised the attitude of midfielder Jack Byrne on his return to the team.
The former Redditch United player missed the first four games of the Blue Square Bet Premier campaign as part of a five-match ban picked up at the end of last season. However, he was back for the 2-0 win over Southport last Saturday and 3-1 success at Newport County on Monday, scoring in each game, as Harriers jumped to third in the table.
“Jack was frustrated not to be involved in our first few games, but he’s the sort of lad who will always make sure he’s fit and ready. He has made a very good return to the side,” Burr said.
“I was pleased to see him score in both games, it’s something he can do.
“In terms of our midfield, I think we’ve got players who can score goals. James Vincent hasn’t scored yet but he will and there’s also Scott Phelan, Callum Gittings and Kyle Storer as well.”
Meanwhile, Burr has not ruled out adding to his squad when the loan window opens on Wednesday despite being happy with his 22-man squad.
He added: “I can’t see it because we have got our squad together but you never know.
“You can pick up injuries but, at the moment, I am more than pleased with what we have got.”
