KIDDERMINSTER Harriers fans are planning a collection in memory of former player Matt Gadsby.
The 27-year-old collapsed during Hinckley United's Nationwide North game at Harrogate last Saturday and later died in hospital.
Gadsby, who had a wife and young daughter, was a popular figure at Aggborough in his season with the club during 2003 and 2004.
His death sent shockwaves through non-league football with clubs raising cash for the footballer's family.
Worcester City and Redditch United collected £711.53 from their league match on Monday night.
Harriers intend to hold a similar appeal at half-time during the Conference home game with Southport on Tuesday.
Club physio Ian Foster, who played alongside Gadsby, said: "Matt was a great friend and a popular member of the dressing room who always made us smile.
"He was at my wedding a few months ago and I am devastated at what's happened."
Harriers players wore black armbands in memory of the versatile defender or midfielder in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Cambridge United.
Hinckley have postponed today's game with Leigh and withdrawn Gadsby's number five shirt as a mark of respect.
His funeral has been delayed due to further medical investigations.
A memorial fund has been set up and more details are at www.hinckleyunitedfc.co.uk
