EVESHAM recorded an em-phatic 90-run win over Dor-ridge to secure fourth place in Birmingham League, Division Two.

Evesham's popular skipper Barry Clements appropriately rounded off what has been a superb season for the club with a magnificent match-winning century.

In damp conditions under heavy cloud cover, Evesham lost the toss and were invited to bat by the visitors.

Despite the loss of early wickets, Clements made light of the difficult conditions batting impeccably in an innings punctuated with trade-mark beefy pulls to leg, and exquisite off drives.

He had good support from former Worcestershire and England player Neal Radford in a fourth wicket stand.

Clements was then kept company by youngsters An-drew Fisher and Chris Weaver as he eased his way to his hundred.

In the conditions, 207-8 off 55 overs looked a useful total, and so it proved.

Evesham's four-man pace attack of Alex Harrison, Radford, Luke Radford and Shahid Saeed put paid to the Dorridge club's promotion prospects.

They bundled Dorridge out for just 117 to round off what has been an outstanding season for Evesham.
